Travellers who will be using KLIA and klia2 can expect disruption to their cellular service due to upgrading works in progress.

According to the statement released by Malaysia Airport, the management is in the midst of upgrading the communication infrastructure in order to improve its coverage and capacity. This improvement is also vital for future digitalisation plans such as Airports 4.0 initiatives.

Hence, travellers in both airports will experience poorer reception and slower speed in terms of cellular service.

“We expect services to resume to normal within approximately three months as the exercise will be done in phases,” the statement said.

In case you need to make phone calls, you can:

  • connect to free airport WiFi and make data calls through WhatsApp and Messenger
  • proceed to the nearest information counter to use the fixed line based telephones

Of course, you can always reach out to any of the Airport CARE Ambassador if you need further assistance. Here’s the original statement by Malaysia Airports.

So guys, if you’re travelling anytime soon, please take note of this yea!
